QWhat is the main difference between the Dillon 650B and the 550B?

AThe main difference between the 550B and 650B is the 650B is auto indexing which means the shell plate spins around as the handle is cranked up and down. The shell plate on the 650B will automatically move each case to be reloaded to the next station each time the handle is activated. On the 550B, the shell plate is moved manually though a lever, so each time you do an action e.g. place a projectile on a case, you must move the shell plate manually around with the lever. Both 650 and 500 do rifle and pistol calibers. See the caliber chart in the Dillon reloader manuals for each press in the downloads section of this web site.
